New AI marketing courses appear every month, and most of the lists ranking them don’t compare the same things. Some are free platform courses that teach prompting in an afternoon. Some are university specializations with a capstone. Some are professional certificates that end with an exam, and some are executive programmes about redesigning a whole marketing operation. This guide compares eight real options as of October 2026, including our own. It covers format, study time, price, certificate and how recent each course is, which matters more for AI than for any other marketing topic.
Who is searching, and what each of them needs
- Small-business owners. You want AI to save hours on content, ads, emails and customer questions without making the business sound like a robot. You need plain explanations, safe habits and a few tools that work.
- Working marketers. You need prompting skills, a sense of which tools fit which jobs, and something to show your manager: a certificate, or better, a faster workflow.
- Marketing leaders. You are deciding how AI changes your team, budget and processes. You need strategy, governance and peers.
- Beginners and career changers. You want a structured, low-cost introduction and a certificate for your CV.

Details and prices come from each provider’s public course page as of October 2026, viewed from Europe, and they change often. Promotions, VAT and local-currency pricing vary, so confirm on the provider’s page before you enrol. Wharton’s executive-education pages and Udemy could not be checked for this comparison, so they are not included.

Each option: what it is good for, and what it is not
HubSpot Academy: AI for Marketing Course
This is the obvious free starting point. It has six lessons, fifteen videos and four quizzes, taking 2 hours 49 minutes, and is taught by HubSpot Academy staff including HubSpot’s chief marketing officer, Kipp Bodnar. The page lists “small business owners” among the people it is for. Topics run from how to use AI in marketing and prompting for marketers to using AI for insights and campaigns. You need a free HubSpot Academy account. The course page does not say whether this course gives a certificate.
LinkedIn Learning: AI for Marketing
Brad Batesole’s 45-minute course was released in November 2024. It is organised around creating a marketing strategy with AI, use cases of ChatGPT in marketing, and other AI tools, including buyer personas, brand voice and campaign personalisation. It is short, practical and intermediate level. Access comes with a LinkedIn Learning subscription, and the page offers a one-month free trial.

UVA Darden: Generative AI in Marketing (Coursera)
A four-course specialization: content marketing with generative AI, advertising, customer service, and building generative AI capabilities. The page estimates four weeks at three hours a week, while the listed course times add up to about seven hours. It includes hands-on exercises, such as developing a brand essence statement and assessing customer-service chatbots. The page says it is “ideal for marketing professionals who want to learn the basic Generative AI principles”. No price was shown on the page, only an enrol button and Coursera’s subscription offer.
Emory University: AI for Marketing (Coursera)
This is the most academic of the online options. It has four courses (“What Can AI Do for Marketing?”, “Generative AI in Marketing”, “AI’s Existing Impact” and “Driving Customer Equity with AI”) plus a capstone, “Making the Case for AI”. The page estimates four weeks at ten hours a week. It is marked beginner level and leads to a career certificate from Emory. It suits someone who wants to understand AI in marketing properly and argue for it at work. It is a bigger commitment than a quick tools course.
AI Academy by SmarterX: AI for Marketing Course Series
This five-course series runs 3.5 hours on demand and was released in August 2025, the most recent date shown among the options here. It is taught by Mike Kaput and finishes with an exam for a professional certificate. The course page shows only a Buy Now button. The catalog page states that each course series costs $499 for a single license, or comes with the AI Mastery Membership. It suits a marketer who wants a current, focused credential and doesn’t need university branding.

Digital Marketing Institute: AI Fundamentals for Marketing
Three modules and about five hours of self-paced content. It covers AI in the marketing workplace, machine learning for marketers, prompt literacy, and a full module on “AI Privacy and Risk Management for Marketers”. It leads to an Associate Certificate and includes DMI Professional Membership. The price showed as €495 from our European connection, with an installment option. It suits marketers who want a recognised industry certificate with a responsible-use component.

Kellogg: AI-First Marketing Strategy
This is an eight-week online executive programme built around the Intelligent Marketing Operating System (I-MOS) framework by Professor Mohanbir Sawhney. It covers customer signals, decisioning, content systems, journey orchestration, agent-enabled execution and governance. Each session costs $2,800, with sessions running November 5 – December 31, 2026 and January 14 – March 11, 2027. Kellogg’s AI programmes page says it is “designed for senior leaders”. If you lead a marketing function, this is the strategic option. If you need help writing this week’s emails, it is far more than you need.

How to choose: a quick checklist
- Check the date first. AI tools, models and prices change every few months. A course released in 2025 or later will show interfaces closer to what you will use. Principles such as prompting, privacy and evaluating outputs age better than tool lists.
- Decide whether you need tools or strategy. Owners and individual marketers usually need tools and habits. Leaders need operating models, governance and budget decisions.
- Look for practice. Quizzes, exercises and a capstone turn watching into skill. Video-only courses depend on you practising afterwards.
- Look for responsible use. A good course covers privacy, customer data, accuracy checking and disclosure, not just speed.
- Check the certificate terms. Some are earned by an exam, some by completion, and some require a subscription.
- Count the real hours. Weekly estimates and listed course hours often differ, as on several pages here.
What an AI marketing course should cover, whoever teaches it
- Prompting for marketing tasks. Research, first drafts, variations and summaries, with examples of good and bad prompts.
- Content with your own voice. How to keep brand voice and accuracy when AI writes the first draft.
- Chatbots and customer conversations. What to automate, and when a human should take over.
- Data, privacy and risk. What not to paste into a tool, and how customer data rules apply.
- Measurement. Whether AI actually saved time or improved results.
- Choosing tools. A method for evaluating new tools, since any list will date.
For a worked example in one industry, see our guide to using an AI agent for restaurant marketing and bookings. If you are comparing broader options, our comparison of B2B marketing courses uses the same method.
Where our course fits, and its limits
The AI marketing course at Easy Marketing School is a short introduction for small-business owners. It has 11 self-paced video lessons, about 1.2 hours in total:
- using ChatGPT for marketing
- what AI marketing is, with examples from modern businesses
- business intelligence
- conversational and chatbot marketing, with examples and ten tips for a chatbot strategy
- AI marketing trends
- the top 15 AI marketing tools
- machine learning in digital marketing
It is taught by Kamran Taghiyev, the school’s founder. It costs a one-time $14.90 and includes lifetime access and a certificate of completion.

Here is what it is not:
- It is not current to the month. Several lessons were recorded with 2024 examples (“chatbot marketing in 2024”, “AI marketing trends in 2024”), and the tools list will have changed since. For the newest interfaces, look at courses released in 2025 or later, such as the AI Academy series.
- Unlike some of our other courses, it has no free preview lessons, and there are no quizzes, exercises or capstone.
- It is not accredited, carries no CEUs and does not end with an exam.
- It is taught in English only.
Choose it if you want a cheap, quick overview of what AI can do for a small business’s marketing, and you are happy to practise with current tools yourself. If you want structure and a credential, Darden or Emory on Coursera, DMI or AI Academy will serve you better. If you lead a marketing team, look at Kellogg.
